About the Celebrity Cruises Celebrity Flora

Our stunning Celebrity Flora® is the first all-suites, 100-guest ship designed exclusively for sailing these islands, and it’s the first resort at sea in the region to receive a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Rating. Inspired by the islands and built with natural materials, the ship merges seamlessly with the surroundings, giving you a feeling of total immersion. To bring you an even more in-depth experience, certified naturalists from the Galápagos National Park are on board to guide the journey.

Proving you can practice responsible tourism and deliver ultimate luxury at the same time, Celebrity Flora was built with the latest environmental technologies. The dynamic positioning system allows the mega-yacht to remain on station without dropping anchors, protecting the seabed—and the solar panels supplement electricity, reducing emissions. The result is one of the most eco-friendly ships sailing anywhere—just one reason Celebrity Flora was awarded “Best Cruise Ship” in 2021.

Baltra Galapagos (Days 1, 8)

Baltra Island, also know as South Seymour, is typically the first place where tourists set foot, as the main Galapagos airport is located here. Dry and flat, it is ideal for this purpose but lacks other real draws for visitors. During World War II, the United States used the island as an Air Force base, primarily for protecting the Panama Canal. Though Galapagos land animals are sparse, the grasslands of Baltra do provide habitat for several species of birds, from small ground finches and noddy terns to large brown pelicans and the prehistoric black frigate. Sea lions also can be spotted on occasion.

Puerto Egas (Day 2)

A visit to Puerto Egas begins with a wet landing on the dark sand beaches of James Bay. The visit begins with a walk along the rocky coast giving visitors the opportunity to view some of the Galapagos Island's best tide pools. Sponges, snails, hermit crabs, barnacles and fish including the endemic four-eyed blenny can be seen. The walk also presents visitors with a variety of shore birds, marine iguanas, sally light foot crabs and sea lions.

Rabida Galapagos (Day 2)

Located south of Santiago, the geology of Isla Rábida makes it stand out from the other Galápagos Islands, in that it consists primarily of spatter-cone volcanic lava and eroded hills in spectacular shades of red and brown. Visitors to Isla Rábida will land on the island's northern beach with its unusual maroon-colored sand. Upon arrival, they are likely to see sea lions and marine iguanas lazing in and around the nearby caves. Brown pelicans can be spotted nesting in the vegetation just inland from the beach, while masked and blue-footed boobies nest on the cliffs above.

Punta Espinoza Fernandina (Day 3)

Caleta Tagus (Day 3)

Stretching 80 miles in length, this island is the largest in the Galapagos and a favorite site of the early pirates and whalers. Famous for the high cliffs which enclose the protected bay, a visit here will give you the opportunity to view a salt water lagoon and the lava fields of Darwin Volcano.

Bartalome Galapagos (Day 4)

Bartolome Island is famous for Pinnacle Rock, a towering spearheaded obelisk that rises from the ocean’s edge and is the best known landmark in the Galapagos. Galapagos penguins—the only species of penguin found north of the equator—walk precariously along narrow volcanic ledges at its base. Sea lions snooze on rocky platforms, ready to slide into the water to play with passing snorkelers. Just below the surface, shoals of tropical fish dodge in and out of the rocks past urchins, sea stars and anemones.

Isla Bartolome (Day 4)

The variety of volcanic formations found here give this small, barren island a moon-like appearance. A hike over the island's lava tubes and tuff cones leads to a spectacular view of Pinnacle Rock, where sea lions and penguins are often seen cavorting in the waters.

Las Bachas (Day 5)

This white-sand beach on Isla Santa Cruz is a major egg-laying site for Pacific green turtles, but pelicans and flamingos feel equally at home here, too. Located on the north shore of Santa Cruz, close to the Baltra Airport, Las Bachas is a swimming beach that serves as a Visitor Site. On this hike, you may see flamingoes, Sally Lightfoot crabs, hermit crabs, black necked stilts, and whimbrels. The sea turtles nest off the beach as well.

Daphne Island (Galapagos) (Day 5)

Daphne Major and Daphne Minor are located between Santa Cruz and Santiago Islands. Most tourists are restricted from visiting these islands by the Galapagos National Park; however, the islands continue to be a popular stop for scientists researching the unique qualities of the Galapagos finches. Highlights: Birdwatching, including the Galapagos finches Activities: Possible diving Type of Landing: Dry landing at high tide only Difficulty: Easy

North Seymore (Day 5)

North of Baltra (South Seymour) is the small islet of North Seymour. The two islands are very similar in appearance both created from Geological Uplift and having typical arid vegetation including Prickly Pear Cacti, Palo Santos Trees and Salt Bushes. The visitor trail on North Seymour is approximately (2 km) in length crossing the inland of the island and exploring the rocky coast. Along the way the trail passes colonies of Blue-Footed Boobies and Magnificent Frigatebirds.

P. Baquerizo San Cristobal (Day 6)

The Capital of the Galapagos Islands and the oldest settlement.

Punta Pitt, San Cristobal (Day 6)

Punta Pitt is located at the east end of San Cristóbal Island. The trail includes an olivine beach approximately 90 meters and a trail that ascends to the top of a volcanic tuff hill passing through several natural viewpoints.

Puerto Ayora Santa Cruz (Day 7)

The hub of most activity in the Galapagos, Puerto Ayora is a charming port town where sea, sun, seabirds and sailboats coexist in happy equilibrium. On the town’s outskirts, you will also find the headquarters to the world-renown Charles Darwin Research Station. Puerto Ayora is a lively seaside town offering international cuisine, oceanfront hotels, outdoor bars, scuba diving schools and an avenue of boutiques with everything from tie-dyed sarongs to Panama hats.
