The Pitons
The Pitons are two iconic volcanic peaks located in the southwestern part of the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean. The Gros Piton and Petit Piton rise majestically from the sea, creating a stunning and recognizable natural landmark.
The Gros Piton is the larger of the two peaks, standing at 2,619 feet (798 meters) high, while the Petit Piton is slightly smaller at 2,461 feet (739 meters) high. The Pitons are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for their unique geological significance and breathtaking natural beauty.
Visitors to St. Lucia can hike to the summits of both Pitons, although the Gros Piton is more frequently climbed due to its slightly easier ascent. The hikes offer spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes, including lush rainforest, sparkling blue waters, and neighboring islands.
